Dive into all of your people pleasing, overthinking and perfectionism tendencies. And learn to love them! Come walk the path of Persephone with us on July 21.
One thing’s for sure: life isn’t all rainbows and butterflies.
There are days at work that you would rather go home, snuggle up in your blanket and sleep for hours.
Because you don’t enjoy the work environment you’re in now or because the tasks at hand cause too much stress.
You can turn around, downplay and ignore all the signals. Leading to burn-out and long term (mental) health issues…
Good question. Let us explain.
Whether we like it or not, our little human lives are not so special. We all encounter heartbreak, disappointment or failure sometime in our life. All of these universal experiences have been gathered for thousands of years in religions, philosophies and mythology.
In order to understand our internal world of emotions and thoughts, we can turn to age-old wisdom for answers. The Greek Goddesses can teach us valuable lessons on how to deal with our personal pains.
How did Aphrodite find self-love? How did Athena muster up her courage? How did Nike stay motivated and determined?
Allow their stories to inspire you, alter your mindset & ultimately change your own thoughts and behavior so that you can achieve your version of success.
Persephone was the beloved daughter of Zeus and Demeter. She was abducted by Hades to be his wife in the underworld. Zeus intervened and negotiated with Hades to allow Persephone to return to the surface world. However, because Persephone had consumed pomegranate seeds while in the underworld, she was bound to spend a portion of each year with Hades.
Persephone's abduction and subsequent time in the underworld represent a descent into the depths of the unconscious mind. In shadow work, individuals explore their subconscious and confront repressed emotions, traumas, and aspects of themselves that they may have ignored or denied.
Persephone's experience in the underworld is a metaphor for confronting darkness and facing one's shadow self. Shadow work involves acknowledging and integrating these darker aspects of the psyche, rather than rejecting or suppressing them. Like Persephone's cyclical journey between the underworld and the surface, inner shadow work requires a continuous process of exploration and acceptance.
